A homeless shelter for homeless youth opens in Colorado Springs

Local news

Temporary thermal protection has been opened in Colorado Springs specifically for homeless youth who need a place to get inside for a few hours during the day.

The temporary refuge is located at 223 N. Wahsatch Ave. and is open to people aged 15 to 24 who live outside or in other “fringes” such as cars or abandoned buildings.

However, it is not possible to stay overnight and is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The shelter is organized by Inside Out Youth Services and The Place and provides access to a meal and basic hygiene items. Case workers and psychiatric clinicians are also available.
