Colorado Springs Meals Financial institution Sees Donations, Volunteers After Storm Harm, Meals | enterprise
Heavy rain during Friday’s heavy thunderstorm damaged both structure and food donations at the Care and Share food bank in Colorado Springs, a spokeswoman said.
The damage to the facility on the east side of the city included office space, fridges and freezers, and mobile food donations, said spokeswoman Joanna Wise.
“Fortunately, as we gathered today, we were able to gather other groceries to replace some of the grocery bags,” and they were able to push mobile distribution, she said Monday.
The damage will be assessed this week. The organization should be closed for inventory this week, Wise said.
Everyone who wants to help is asked to donate money or volunteer. For more information, visit careandshare.org.
