Colorado Springs Switchbacks’ League makes use of 5 subs, out of three | Sports activities protection
The USL championship, which also includes the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, announced Tuesday that the league’s board of governors had approved a motion to allow five substitutes for the remainder of the 2020 season.
The number of substitutes is an increase compared to the three existing representatives. However, to avoid disruption, each team has only three options to make their five allotted substitutions.
Substitutions can be made at halftime without counting towards three opportunities in the game.
The squads on matchday remain with 18 players, whereby the clubs are obliged to provide provisional 23-man squad lists at least 48 hours before kick-off.
The season is expected to continue on July 11th. More details, including the format for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs, will be released as they become available.
