CP’s vacation practice rocks by means of Regina

Canadian Pacific Railway’s Holiday Train made its way through Regina on Monday evening.

Those in attendance were also treated to performances by country star Dallas Smith, as well as Vancouver-based rock outfit Odds.

The Holiday Train’s annual trek is part of a charitable initiative where attendees are encouraged to bring an item of food to be donated to a food bank in need.

The crowd was treated to a rendition of Darlene Love’s classic Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Odds, before Dallas Smith took the stage to perform his hits.

A new song written by Odds was also performed at the show. Proceeds from the song, Love is What You Get, will be donated to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.

A cheque for $13,000 was also donated to the Regina Food Bank.

“This support helps the Regina Food Bank helps serve over 9,000 clients that come to the food bank every month,” said board chair Divyesh Patel.
