Regina Farmers’ Market strikes to new indoor location

The Regina Farmers’ Market will open indoors for the fall this week at a new location.

Fall indoor markets run Saturdays from Oct. 13 to Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST.

This year they will be held at the Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre at 445 14th Ave.

There will be a variety of vendors, children’s activities and hot food stands.

The centre is also home to indoor and outdoor skating rinks, a public library branch and an accessible outdoor play structure.

The Farmers’ Market will once again hold its outdoor markets on City Square Plaza on Wednesdays and Saturdays from May until Thanksgiving.

A representative from the Farmers’ Market said the group hopes to one day have a year-round, permanent venue.

“We hear from customers all the time that they’d like to see us in a year-round, permanent venue. And that’s a dream that we’d like to pursue,” said executive director Nikko Snyder in an emailed statement. “But it requires an incredible amount of
fundraising and organizational development.”

“We’re taking baby steps.”

The indoor market was previously held at the WA WA Shriners Centre on Hamilton Street.
