Regina Meals Financial institution to launch 12 Days of Christmas marketing campaign
The Regina Food Bank is getting ready for their 12 Days of Christmas campaign. The charity made the announcement Monday, along with some of their partners.
The Food Bank, along with Potash Corp, Co-op, and Good Earth Coffee Shop have plans in place to help raise the money needed for the Food Bank’s goal of 2,000 food hampers this year.
Phong Le runs the Good Earth Coffee Shop. They participated in the event in 2015, baking 8,700 gingerbread cookies and donating $1 from every cookie sold.
“We want to donate $10,000 this year to the local Regina Food Bank,” Le told CTV News.
Regina Food Bank CEO Steve Compton says the need in Regina is as great as ever.
“There’s been a 17 per-cent increase in Saskatchewan from this time last year. In Regina, it’s about (an) eight percent increase,” said Compton.
Although eight per-cent isn’t as high as the national increase, Compton said it equals to about 500 more families in need in Regina.
The 12 Days of Christmas will be held from Dec. 1st – 12th.
