The proprietor of a meals truck in Colorado Springs feeds a whole bunch of homeless folks each week
REGINA, Colorado (KRDO) – A Colorado Springs resident started a food truck business called the Filipino Food Truck. During the pandemic, she donated food and fed hundreds of the homeless every week.
On Easter Sunday, Lorry-Vic Gelicame Martinez donated baskets, bread, snacks and packed lunches. Her friends call Martinez a “warm and giving person”. A food truck owner hopes to help as many people as possible during the pandemic.
Martinez says, “One small bowl can make a big difference, and that’s why we’re here today.” She continues, “These people have nothing. I thought we could bring out some milk for them at least once a day and a few side dishes later.”
Tim Davis, who was there to pick up a hot meal, said, “It means the world to me that people and their families take time out for their day. It’s a real blessing.”
